A beautiful ski touring trip just a few hours away by plane. Let yourself be lulled between the high plains of Cappadocia and the Taurus massif, studded with rocky peaks and wide slopes designed for skiing.
You'll discover the Turkey we love, close to the people who live in the mountains, where time sometimes seems to stand still. It's time to let yourself go, to let yourself be carried away by this beautiful journey, to ski peacefully, to enjoy the passing of time, to drink teas and smoke hookah with the locals around the stove in the village tearoom. Here, cut off from the world after a great day's skiing, it's time to take it easy. You're with our friends here, you're in Turkey.
Welcome at Kayseri airport and transfer to the Ihlara valley to spend the night in a small village.

Early breakfast. We then travel by all-terrain vehicle to the start of the hike. As we reach the top of the peak, we are treated to a magnificent view of the snow-covered Anatolian plateau.
Then it's time to set off down a huge pipe naturally carved out by lava flows!
In the early afternoon, our vehicle is waiting for us, along with a hot tea near the village of Helvadere. Transfer by bus to the Taurus mountains, a journey of around 2 hours, followed by accommodation in a local home.

Another early breakfast. Transfer by all-terrain vehicle to the Emli valley at the Sarimemetler site. Wearing sealskins, we head up the Mangırcı valley to reach the base of Mount Alaca (3300m). For the more courageous, it is possible to continue to the summit of the latter. The descent is then via the Avcıveli pass (3300m). Ski in the Akşampınarı valley, up to the forest in the Sıyırma valley. Then a little more skiing and back to the starting point in Sarımemetler, we meet up with our vehicle which takes us back to the local's house. Dinner and overnight stay with the locals.

Another early breakfast. Our vehicle takes us to the Tülü plateau. Accompanied by our trusty sealskins, we head up the Yalak Deresi valley. Once over the Çelik Buyduran pass, we begin our ascent of Mount Embler. On arrival, if the weather is good, you can see the Bolkar massif, Mt Argée (3916m) and Mt Hasan (3268m). On the way back, we take the same route to the local house.
Meals included today: breakfast - picnic - dinner.

We set off from the far end of the Emli valley and climb quietly into the valley, leaving the "Doigt de Dieu" valley on our right to reach the upper valleys. At the end of the valley, we head due south into this beautiful valley, which is very pleasant to climb and leads to a pass at the foot of the summit rocks. To reach it, you have to climb up an S-shaped couloir with fairly steep slopes leading to the Kaldi pass.
If you're brave enough, you'll be able to see the summit of the Guzeller; to reach it, you'll have to climb a steep couloir using crampons. Then you'll have to walk up a couloir on a fairly steep slope. Finally, we put our skis back on to reach the summit.
Meals included today: breakfast - picnic - dinner.

Transfer by vehicle to the start of the ski tour in the Narpuz Gorge. We climb gradually to the pass (3300m) which lies to the west of the summit of Demirkazık. We then head towards the north face of Demirkazık, in the direction of Lake Dipsiz, which is covered in snow at this time of year. We are now in the Cimbar Gorge, which is covered in snow and offers excellent skiing terrain. From the gorge, you can ski to the village of Karamik.
We then stay in a hotel near Mount Ercyes, in Cappadocia.

These two valleys are the most beautiful in the region. They offer unforgettable hikes through incredible landscapes that make you feel as if you've left our planet and gone to another. You go from one panoramic view to another without ever tiring of these magnificent landscapes from elsewhere.
Lunch at the hostel in the village of Uçhisar, also known as "the fortress" because it is built around a rocky outcrop and served as a military base during the Roman period. On reaching the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Cappadocce.
Then it's back down to the village of Göreme, where you can enjoy a meal in a typical Turkish restaurant.

This is an example of a ski touring programme in Turkey. Weather and snow conditions, as well as the level of the participants, may lead the guide to modify it or to do certain itineraries in a different order. We ask you to respect his choices. We may also have to change accommodation within the same range for logistical or availability reasons.
The slopes may have some short steep passages. You should be at ease with ski touring techniques and skiing on all types of snow. We may also ski on glacier terrain. You should master uphill kick turns without hesitation.
Good physical condition is required, some uphill sections may have to be done on foot. Ascents and descents vary between 800 & 1000 metres per day. Depending on the chosen itinerary, there may be two outings per day. This allows those who want to pursue to do so and those who are tired to rest and relax.
Beware, you're not playing in the skatepark in your neighbourhood: even though you're extremely keen, are craving to make first tracks in the powder snow, don't forget that this trip is far away overseas, in remote areas and rescue services may be slow and often less well organised than in your home country. So keep cool and take it easy to fully enjoy...and please avoid a back flip without knowing what's behind.
For your comfort a pair of Crocs is a good investment and is useful in a minibus, hotel rooms and so on.
Good to know: If you don't have the level required, the guide will be able to ask you to leave for the well-being of the rest of the group, if necessary. If any doubt, please do not hesitate to ask us!
