We all have the impression we already know Savoie, its cable cars (that are as hideous as TGV mainlines), metered car parks and so on... Actually you just forgot the best part of it: the BEAUFORTAIN ! And that's where we'll take you for this ski touring trip.
This little gem in the Northern Alpes still remains unspoilt with its lovely fur trees and traditional agriculture. Does Beaufort ring a bell ? Yep, the famous cheese ! Not the cows ! Well, this is where it's made ! Add to that the snow and an authentic welcoming place to stay, and you have it all in one. We've had great pleasure concocting this ski touring program consisting in progressive and reasonable climbs, through fur tree forests, up summits and down beautiful virgin slopes.
Any questions ? Any doubts ? Just let us know !
Meet up either at Briançon or in Albertville.
To warm up, we ski at the Arèches ski resort on and off-piste: the guide will assess everyone's level, review security and safety techniques with you, and you'll finish off with a short skinning session. At the end of day we head over to the hotel, a nice comfy and cozy mountain hut, where we shall spend the week. Hot showers and toilets are in available in each room, there's a big lounge with a nice view.

Please note this itinerary is an example of a ski touring trip in the Beaufortain. The guide may adjust certain itineraries and ski areas according to weather and snow conditions as well as participants' abilities. We kindly ask you to respect such decision. We may also change accommodation, maintaining the same standard, according to logistics and availabilities.
In case practices and customs defined by the local guide authorities change, estimating the reasonable number of clients per guide, for safety reasons, Azimut respects these, even last minute, decisions. Such cases are rare and mostly related to exceptional conditions in the mountains. Therefore some compensation may be requested from your side due to less participants per guide.
We always do our best, but we can't guarantee the exact time of arrival at the train station (due to traffic or weather conditions). Therefore we strongly advise you to buy train tickets that can easily be modified. If you're travelling by car, we'll meet you at the arrival point, or at one of the drop of points where you'll be able to leave your car for the entire trip.

The slopes may have some short steep passages. You should be at ease with ski touring techniques and skiing on all types of snow. We may also ski on glacier terrain. You should master uphill kick turns without hesitation.
Good physical condition is required, some uphill sections may have to be done on foot. Ascents and descents vary from 800 to 1000 metres per day. Depending on the chosen itinerary, there may be two outings per day. If you're eager you can continue skiing, if you're tired you can rest and relax.
Good to know: if you don't have the level required, the guide will be able to ask you to leave for the well-being of the rest of the group if necessary. If any doubt, please do not hesitate to ask us !
