We'll take you to some of the best spots in the Aosta Valley. Surrounded by the highest peaks in the Alps, this small French-speaking region of north-western Italy is a veritable treasure trove for mountain bikers! On the programme: carefully selected mountain bike itineraries, exceptional panoramic views of the Mont Blanc massif, Italian-style meals and hospitality... what could be better for your next holiday?
Day 1 : Warming up and discovery of the Valpelline
Welcome at the train station of Briançon. You are in your best mountain bike outfit for the meeting! Presentation, equipment check, and saddle up! It's time to stretch your legs, air your bronchi, and forget about the office!
From Balmes we're going to go up quietly the Valpelline to admire one of the biggest lake of the Aosta Valley. We get to know each other, we chat and already the camera is out!
Then it's time to go and discover our beautiful hotel where we will spend the next three nights.

Day 2 : Dream Balade facing the Mont Blanc
Be careful with your eyes, today it's going to sting! No onions in sight, but an unforgettable panorama on the Italian side of the Mont-Blanc range! If summits like "Dômes de Miage", "Aiguille de Bionnassay" or "Dôme du Goûter" don't tell you anything, you will be dazzled by this great view!
Magnificent and wild ascent in a preserved valley of the Aosta Valley (chhuuut, secret spot!) and an essential terrace break: it's the holidays, we're here to chill out!

Day 3 : Ascent of the Grandes Jorasses (yep, only that!)
Well yeah, we take you to paradise! yes okay, in E-bike it will be easier, and especially we will stay in the Val Ferret, this fabulous valley bordered by the massif of the Mt Blanc and these famous Grandes Jorasses, cradle of the alpinism!
A magnificent walk to soak up the grandiose landscape, with the highlight being the Elena Refuge and its terrace where we can rest facing the glaciers of Mt Dolent, a must! Paradise we tell you!

Day 4 : Enchanted valley of Valgrisenche
On this day, we make a beautiful loop in a wild valley, by bordering a lake with turquoise waters then by going up a 4x4 track. Yes, we know the area well, and we love this place! The objective? The Bouque mountain pasture under the eponymous glaciers, and above all the terrace of a refuge where you will be able to sit down in the sun to admire this Dantesque view! Yes okay you can also enjoy the sweet Italian food to refuel your energy!
Back to the van, gooo to see our second little nest of the week, and the exploration of a new emblematic massif of the Aosta Valley!

Day 5: Favoloso Valtournenche i Lago di Tsgnanaz
Do you know the Matterhorn? This emblematic mountain, with a perfect aesthetic, which has an exceptional power of attraction? Yep, on this trip the van will put you down at altitude, and then we'll go for a walk and chat in front of the Matterhorn - the other name of this perfect mountain! An unforgettable panorama whose apotheosis will be the Lake of Tsignanaz, whose track will follow the bank to fill the memory card of your camera, for sure!
Nota bene: don't forget to enjoy a meal/coffee/pastry, we came here to enjoy ourselves! "mangiare bene"!

Day 6 : Delizioso Val d'Ayas - Champoluc - Mt Rose
For this last day in Valle d'Aosta (nah, don't shed a tear, you'll come back to discover other fabulous places with us!), we'll explore the Val d'Ayas and its magical panorama under the Monte Rosa glaciers. Yes, it's impossible to miss the views from this walk under this emblematic summit culminating at 4634m. And that's not all, we'll take you to the edge of a high altitude lake to refresh your feet and relax while soaking up the fabulous energy of these mountains! Ah how delicious it is to let yourself go to the "dolce vita"!
It's already time to leave us, after a breathtaking week in Valle d'Aosta! Transfer to Briançon, putting your best music in the van!

This is an example of an electric mountain bike tour in the Aosta Valley. Weather conditions, terrain and the level of the participants could lead the instructor to modify it or to do some itineraries in a different order, in different areas or in a border country.
We always do our best, but can't guarantee the exact time of arrival at the train station (due to traffic or weather conditions). Therefore we strongly recommend you to buy train tickets that can easily be modified. If you're travelling by car, we'll meet you at one of the indicated meeting points, or at one of the drop off points where you'll be able to leave your car for the entire trip.

For mountain bikers who are already passionate about their sport and have a number of mountain biking experiences. You have a good command of gear shifting and braking, and are capable of overcoming an obstacle by lightening the bike, and climbing up or down short steep sections. Mountain bikers who want to improve their skills on singletrack descents that are rarely steep, sometimes technical (rocks, roots, etc.) but not exposed. Ideal for reinforcing the basics to acquire the grail of level 3!
For keen and passionate mountain bikers or sporty people, who enjoy making efforts and regularly do an outdoor activity. You are sporty, are used to go out riding for a full day at least once a week and a maybe a few shorter outings in a week, at least a few weeks before you head off for a trip with us. Our rides will take you on quite long climbs where you may sometimes even have to push or carry your bike. Expect ascents between + 650 m & + 2200 m approx per day.
Good to know: If you don't have the required level, the guide might ask you to leave the group for your own safety, that of the group or the well-being of the group as a whole. Don't hesitate to ask us if you have any doubts!

Bring a small day pack large enough (for more detailed advice see gear section) to carry your personal belongings for the day such as (extra) layers, a few snacks, your picnic and a repair kit. All other personal gear not needed for the day will be transferred to our accomodation.

A 30% deposit, as well as the insurance cost if you choose to subscribe the latter, is required to secure your booking. You will receive a reminder email 35 days prior to departure for the outstanding balance that is due latest 30 days prior to departure.
We strongly recommend you to be properly insured for the chosen activity. You should be covered for medical expenses, personal accident & liabilité, third party risks and rescue (helicopter), as well as trip cancellation or curtailment.
Repatriation and research insurance are mandatory when booking a trip with Azimut. We have a full range of insurances on offer to suit the trip you select and the risks that it may incur (beware, such insurance only covers European citizens).
Tipping is no obligation. However participants usually hand round an envelope for those who wish to tip the guide.
Azimut's minibuses are used throughout the trip. Not only does this make the trip easier, but it also makes it more pleasant and less binding: we can chat, take a nap and listen to our own music. If luggage transfers are necessary, you have the possibility to use the transfer if you're tired and for any other reason.
During the trip
Half board in cosy gîte-hotel, twin rooms. Depending on the size of group, you might be sharing a room with someone of the opposite sex. Bed linen, towels are provided.
Accomodation before & after bike trips
As soon as you register, we'll send you the contact details of accommodation providers where you can spend the night before and after your trip. This accommodation is close to the meeting points and you will often benefit from a preferential rate. Depending on your itinerary, it may be easier to join the guide at our logistics base in Cervières so that you can use our minibus to get to the starting point of the trip. On request, we can book you an overnight stay before or after your trip at the Lodge Le Petit Cerf, which is our basecamp located exactly at the same place as our agency.

If you don't have the adequate gear for this trip, don't worry and travel light: we rent out the required gear and hand it over at the start of the trip ! Our equipment is relatively new, if not brand new, of good quality and adapted to your choice of activity.
